Best Hashtags for Real Estate

Marketing for real estate agents is a great opportunity to get their name out there. With social media, agents can share listings, content, market updates and videos with their following. It becomes a great way to promote a home or service, and easy for others to share and spread through word of mouth.

In 2019, Zillow performed a report that said 69% of sellers value an agent who uses social platform sites to promote listings. With so many people browsing social media daily, it’s a whole pool of potential buyers or clients to see in daily life.

To take full advantage of online marketing and exposure, real estate hashtags can increase discoverability and spread your message further.

Hashtag Limits for Social Media

While hashtags are a great way to connect with followers and other users, how many hashtags are the right amount? Here’s some limits to consider ahead of time:

Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post, although for a more clean and directed message you should only use between 5-10.

Twitter is known for its limited character posts, and hashtags are a part of that. 280-characters are allowed, so keep it to one or two limited hashtags to help people discover your brand.

LinkedIn has no limit to hashtags, but it’s recommended to keep to a maximum of five to avoid having the LinkedIn Algorithm marking your post as spam.

Pinterest, like Twitter, has a character limit. 500 characters are allowed, which includes any hashtags. Less than ten enables your post to be discoverable while maintaining a visual interest.

Facebook allows for hashtags, but they do not help increase discoverability. If you’re looking to increase your reach on Facebook, using Facebook ads and other marketing tools can help.

How to Use Real Estate Hashtags

Collecting a series of commercial real estate hashtags is innumerable, since creating a phrase or specific word can easily become one. So which ones are best for you? First, take into account what kind of agent or area you are in. These can help localize your services and target the audience you want.
